We are currently offering Zoom Conferencing webinars and are running an 8 module series on Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) and
a 9 module series on Structural Integration (SI) and a 4 module series on Manupractic Massage and a 5 module series on
Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage and a 2 module series on Thai Yoga Massage.
Each webinar is about 2-3 hours long and is an introduction to the actual 2 day in-person certification level training in NMT and SI and
Manupractic Masage and Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage and Thai Yoga Massage.
You do not need to take the modules in chronological order and you can pick and choose which modules you would like to take.
Structural Integration Session 7 will not be taught as a zoom class as it is primarily intra-oral work and would be difficult to teach online.
Structural Integration Session 7 will be taught as an in person 2 day course, though.
We are also offering 2 day zoom online certification courses in Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) for all 8 modules. It is generally scheduled on a Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 3pm Alberta time (MST - Mountain Standard Time) with a one hour lunch break, so 5 hours training each day and total training of 10 hour for each module. Participants will be required to be actively involved in the class and will require a computer whether desktop or laptop with both a webcam camera and a microphone and speakers so we can communicate with each other. Participants will be required to allow the instructor and other participants to view and hear each other practicing techniques to allow for feedback and correction if needed. Participants will also need a massage table and a volunteer/ volunteers to work on throughout the 10 hours of training and a way to position the webcam camera around the massage table so the instructor is able to see what you are doing, whether
with the use of a tripod for the webcam or a third person to hold the webcam and I recommend a usb extension cord to allow the webcam to reach around the massage table. You can get these from Bestbuy for about $20 for a 3 meter extension cord. NMT utilizes a hand tool called a tbar for some of its techniques. These can be made of wood, metal or plastic. You should get 2 for these courses, one with a large tip and another with a small tip. You can purchase these from amazon, just type "massage tool tbar" in your search. Each class is limited to 10 participants each to allow for proper supervision of participants. Any overflow in registration will be put into additional scheduled classes. This course is $400 plus $20 gst per module. A certification certificate will be issued upon completion of this course.
The Manupractic Institute is offering certification in Neuromuscular Therapy. Upon completion of each of the 8 modules, the student will received a certification certificate in that particular treatment area, example cervical protocol. Upon completion of all 8 modules, the student will receive a final certificate entitling them to use the title Certified Neuromuscular Therapist, endorsed through the Manupractic Institute. The Neuromuscular Therapy certification program is only open to Massage Therapists, due to the anatomy and therapeutic massage pre-requisites required beforehand by the student.

This 1 day certification course in Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT) The Pelvic Protocol is available in zoom online format, so it is available to Massage Therapists across Canada. It is scheduled on a Saturday from 9am to 3pm Alberta time (MST - Mountain Standard Time) with a one hour lunch break, so a total training time of 5 hours. Participants will also need a massage table and a volunteer/ volunteers to work on throughout the 5 hours of training and a way to position the webcam camera around the massage table so the instructor is able to see what you are doing, whether with the use of a tripod for the webcam or a third person to hold the webcam and I recommend a usb extension cord to allow the webcam to reach around the massage table. You can get these from Bestbuy for about $20 for a 3 meter extension cord. Each class is limited to 10 participants each to allow for proper supervision of participants. NMT utilizes a hand tool called a tbar for some of its techniques. These can be made of wood, metal or plastic. You should get 2 for these courses, one with a large tip and another with a small tip. You can purchase these from amazon, just type "massage tool tbar" in your search. Any overflow in registration will be put into additional scheduled classes. This course is $200 plus $10 gst per module. A certification certificate will be issued upon completion of this course.

The Manupractic Institute
specializes in training in the following
styles of manual therapy:
---------------------------------------------------
Structural Integration
Structural Integration is a method of deep manipulation of the connective tissues of the body. The intention is to create a system of postural restructuring and movement re-patterning in order to promote ease and balance in posture, with a corresponding effect on the mind.
The Ten Session Series is a sequence of ten one hour sessions, each emphasizing specific regions of the body. It is a process of re-organizing the body and re-patterning movement. The Ten Session Series is based on insights into anatomical, physiological and kinesthetic relationships with respect to the way a body relates to itself, and to the field of gravity.
To become certified in the Manupractic Method of Structural Integration, you will need to complete the 10 modules of 2 day in person classes and pass the required
testing to get your certification certificate.
Neuromuscular Therapy
Neuromuscular Therapy or NMT for short is an orthopedic manual therapy effective for treating muscle pain and muscle tension. Core to NMT is trigger point therapy and primary techniques
such as muscle stripping, cross fiber frictions and longitudinal frictions. Joint mobilizations and fascial rolling are also important techniques used in NMT. The treatment protocols
are unique to specific regions of the body and include treatment of the cervical region, the pelvis, the cranium, the lower back and the abdomen.
To become certified in the Manupractic Method of Neuromuscular Therapy, you will need to complete the 8 modules of 2 day in person classes and pass the required
testing to get your certification certificate.
Manupractic Massage
Manupractic massage is an eclectic blend of techniques and principles from various disciplines, including Esalen massage, modern American massage techniques, Hawaiian lomi lomi massage and Thai yoga massage. Despite its varied roots, Manupractic massage can be distinguished by the type of strokes it uses to connect and unify the entire body. Another important aspect of this therapy is the approach taken toward each client as a whole person, not as separate parts to be manipulated. Unlike outcome goals in other forms of massage, the practitioner’s primary goal in this approach is not the removal of localized pain or tension, though this is typically accomplished. Instead, the aim is usually to induce deep relaxation, integrate mind and body, and enhance total body awareness.
Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage
Lomi Lomi massage is one of the oldest and most profound forms of massage. The word Lomi Lomi simply means 'Hawaiian massage'. It is a unique healing massage
derived from the ancient Polynesians and more specifically the master healers of Hawaii.
Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage techniques usually commences with stillness and silence between the therapist and client, where therapist will rest their hands gently on the clients back.
The massage techniques are given in fluid, rhythmic motion using full hands, forearms as well as the palms. Some people have described this technique as feeling like gentle waves moving over the body. Another feature is that different parts of the body may be massaged at the same time, for example the therapist will work upon your shoulder and lower back or upper leg at the same time.
This assists the recipient in deep relaxation as it is impossible or at least extremely difficult for the brain to focus on the two different areas at once. Lomi Lomi massage strokes help to free the energy, make the body soft, promoting free and abundant flow of life energy in the recipient. Gentle stretches of the body and gentle rotations of the joints are therefore also incorporated to assist the release of tension and assist the flow of energy, once again not forcing, but feeling the level of the client’s resistance or comfort.
Dance-work or hula movements, combined with the breath-work of the practitioner, is also an important and integral aspect of Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage techniques.
Traditional Thai Massage
Traditional Thai massage is a unique form of oriental bodywork dates back to ancient times over 2,500 years ago. It is carried out in a meditative mood, enabling the practitioner to concentrate on the client's energy flow, which benefits the client as well as the practitioner. Nuad Bo Rarn, as it is known in Thailand, means Ancient Thai Massage. This powerful bodywork is originally from India, and many of the Thai stretches resemble the Indian yoga asanas. It also has Chinese influences such as acupressure. It works along the energy lines throughout the body known as 'sen' lines in Thai, which are similar to the Chinese meridians. In the last ten years, Thai massage has evolved enormously and is becoming increasingly popular worldwide.
